NATURE BASED – Celebrating the Out-of-doors with Laura C. Martin

2025 is starting out with a bang!

While writing a book on the endangered plants of the Southeast and tending to my large, happy garden, I am also exploring the fascinating craft of making paints from flowers. It is fast, easy and endlessly interesting (and a little addictive!)

And YES! You can really paint with these water based paints. These paints were made from a begonia leaf, lemon juice and baking soda.

The variations in colors and shades are endless – and all are home-made from plants.

I love this craft and want you to love it too! Let me hear from you. Send me pictures of your creations – but beware, you’ll never look at a flower quite the same way again.
